Executive Biographies
Over the past 20 years, Steve Karlovic has held a number of senior leadership positions
within the aerospace and electronics markets.
Prior to joining CDI in June of 2009, he held several positions with European Aeronautics,
Defence and Space (EADS), including Vice President of Business Development for EADS North
America Test and Services, a provider of electronic test instruments and systems for military,
aerospace and commercial applications. Prior to that he was a program director at Lockheed
Martin Simulation, Training & Support in Orlando, Florida, where he managed automated test
equipment development, production, and logistics support programs in support of a number of
weapon systems including the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, F-16, and F-22. He is a
1982 graduate of Georgia Tech and has a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse
University.
Barbara joined CDI-Government Services in August 2011 after a distinguished career with Lockheed Martin.
Most recently she was Director of Finance and Controller for Lockheed Martin Enterprise Business Services,
and previously held positions as CFO of a $200M manufacturing division in Archbald, PA, and program finance
lead for major programs supporting the U.S. Coast Guard at Lockheed Martin Maritime Sensors and Systems Company.
Barbara has Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Rutgers University and a Master of Business Administration degree
in Finance from Drexel University.
Robert C. Bergeron is Senior Vice President & General Manager for CDI Marine Company - Government Staffing Division. He
joined CDI Marine Company in 1981 as an Electronics Section Manager and has since
served in progressive management positions including overseeing the CDI Marine Company
technical facility in Yokosuka, Japan, our facility supporting the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA,
and the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA. Prior to joining CDI Marine Company he held
positions with General Dynamics, Tracor, Inc. Nickum & Spaulding & Associates, Rohr
Marine Inc. and Diamond Manufacturing Co. Bergeron is an active member of the American
Society of Naval Engineers, National Contract Management Association, Society of Naval
Architects and Marine Engineers and the Tidewater Shipbuilders Association.
David R. Lavis is Senior Vice President & General Manager of CDI Marine Company - Band Lavis Division.
Prior to the acquisition of BLA by CDI Marine Company in May 1998, Lavis served as Chairman of BLA for
21 years. Prior to this, he held management positions with the Marine Division of Aerojet General, Bell
Aerospace Textron and Saunders Roe in the U.K. Lavis is acknowledged internationally for his expertise
in high-speed ship and craft design. He has served the military and commercial marine industries in the
U.S. and the U.K. since 1959 and has published over 50 technical conference papers on fast craft.
Lavis is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects and a Chartered Engineer in the U.K. and
has an MS Degree in Aero-Space Engineering from Cranfield Institute of Technology in the U.K.
George Shefler is Senior Vice President and General Manager for The M&T Company. He was promoted
to this position in 1999 after serving as Vice President and General Manager of the M&T
Lakehurst, N.J., operation. Shefler joined M&T in 1983 as Program Manager of the Automatic
Test Equipment Department, where he played a key role in developing The M&T Company's test
engineering capability. Prior to this, he held the position of Assistant Professor at the
US Air Force Academy. Shefler holds a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. and is a retired Lt. Colonel in the US Air Force.
Rick Leeker is Vice President and General Manager of CDI-Government Services'
Washington, DC Office. He was promoted to this position in August 2007. Leeker joined
CDI Marine Company in 2006. Prior to this, he was a Program Manager working with
NAVSEA 05 on Maintenance Process Improvement and on Maintenance Figure of Merit. Leeker
is a member of the American Society of Naval Engineers and holds a Masters Degree in
Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Naval
Architecture.
Mike is responsible for all CDI Marine's engineering and industrial operations in the Hampton Roads area. He
joined CDI in 2000 after a career with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where he held progressive positions in engineering
and management, including Branch Chief within the Planning Yard and the Shipyard's Chief Electrical Engineer. Mike
earned his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and is a licensed professional engineer in the
Commonwealth of Virginia.
Anthony DiDomenico manages Logistics Programs and Business Development for The M&T Company. Anthony joined M&T
in 1983 and served as Site Manager of the M&T Islandia, NY and Jacksonville, FL, offices and acted as Program
Manager for multiple Automatic Test Equipment / Test Program Set development programs. Prior to this, he was a Sr.
Project Engineer and Electronic Design Engineer for contractor support services organizations and original equipment
manufacturers. DiDomenico holds a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from Polytechnic Institute of New York,
Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Western Michigan University, and is a certified
Program Management Professional from PMI.
